Chen Huiren, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the China Machine Tool Industry Association, has issued a New Year message, marking a renewed spirit for the industry. He also expresses deep gratitude to all leaders and individuals who have shown support and care for the development of China’s machine tool sector.
As we step into the New Year, on behalf of the permanent establishment of the China Machine Tool Industry Association, I would like to extend my heartfelt blessings and sincere greetings to everyone in the industry. It is with great appreciation that I thank all the leaders and people from various sectors who have consistently supported and contributed to the growth of China's machine tool industry.
The year 2013 was a challenging one for the Chinese machine tool industry. The global economic realignment and China’s own economic restructuring continued to shape the industry’s environment in profound ways. Market dynamics and other growth drivers experienced significant shifts, bringing new pressures and challenges that required greater adaptability and resilience.
However, 2013 also marked a turning point, as the pace of transformation and upgrading in the industry accelerated. After years of sustained downward pressure, the industry gained a clearer understanding of the long-term and complex nature of this transition. There was a noticeable shift in mindset—many players moved from passive reaction to active adaptation, and eventually to proactive engagement with change. This evolving perspective has led to more conscious adjustments and positive transformations across the sector.
Looking ahead, 2014 holds promising opportunities. The Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee and the recent Central Economic Work Conference have signaled that 2014 will be a landmark year for comprehensive reform. These reforms are expected to drive innovation and boost the internal momentum of economic growth. As a result, they will create a more favorable environment for the industry’s transformation and upgrading. We are confident that the coming year will bring meaningful progress and new achievements.
