T10A chemical composition and mechanical properties

T10A Chemical Composition and Mechanical Properties, Application Scope
Overview of T10A

T10A is a type of carbon tool steel known for its high strength and wear resistance compared to T8 and T9. However, it has relatively low heat hardness, limited hardenability, and tends to experience significant distortion during quenching. Despite this, it features fine grain structure, which makes it less prone to overheating during heating and helps maintain its microstructure. After quenching, some undissolved carbides remain in the material, contributing to its excellent wear resistance. It is ideal for manufacturing cutting tools with sharp edges that require moderate toughness. T10A is suitable for tools that operate under harsh cutting conditions, where high wear resistance is essential but high impact or vibration is not expected. It can also be used as a wear-resistant component in non-impact applications.

Features:

T10A is one of the most commonly used carbon tool steels, offering good toughness at a low production cost. After proper heat treatment, it can achieve a hardness above 60HRC. However, it has poor hardenability and limited heat resistance (up to 250°C). It is not easily overheated, and it maintains a fine grain structure even after heating. While its toughness is acceptable, its strength and wear resistance are higher than those of T7 to T9. Still, its hot hardness and hardenability are not very high, and it may undergo considerable deformation during quenching.

Application Scope:

This steel is widely used for manufacturing various cutting tools such as turning tools, shaping tools, drills, taps, reamers, screw dies, milling cutters, saw blades, cold dies, wire drawing dies, and cold extrusion dies for aluminum alloys. It is also suitable for paper blanking dies, plastic forming dies, small cold trimming and punching dies, and low-precision measuring tools like card plates. Additionally, it can serve as wear-resistant parts that are not subjected to heavy impacts.

Delivery Condition: The steel is typically supplied in an annealed state. It can also be delivered without annealing upon mutual agreement between the buyer and seller.

Chemical Composition:

Carbon (C): 0.95–1.04%

Aluminum External Door

Aluminum external opening door refers to a door that opens outward with aluminum alloy as the main material, and has the following characteristics:
Advantages:
Light weight: The density of aluminum alloy material is relatively low, which makes the overall weight of aluminum external opening door lighter, which is more convenient and labor-saving for both installation and daily use. During the handling and installation process, the physical requirements for construction workers are relatively low, and the load-bearing pressure on the building structure is also reduced.
High strength: After reasonable processing and treatment, aluminum alloy has high strength and can withstand large external forces. Therefore, aluminum external opening doors are sturdy and durable, not easy to deform, can maintain good use status for a long time, and are suitable for various different use environments.
Corrosion resistance: Aluminum alloy has good corrosion resistance. In outdoor environments, it can resist the erosion of natural factors such as rain, sunlight, wind and sand, is not easy to rust or fade, and has a long service life. Even in harsh environments such as humidity, acid and alkali, it can maintain good performance.
Good sealing: High-quality aluminum external opening doors are usually equipped with sealing devices such as sealing strips, which can effectively prevent outdoor dust, rain, noise, etc. from entering the room, improving the comfort and quietness of the room.
Beautiful appearance: Aluminum alloy can be subjected to a variety of surface treatments, such as anodizing, electrophoretic coating, powder coating, etc., which can present different colors and textures to meet the aesthetic needs of different consumers. At the same time, the design styles of aluminum exterior doors are diverse, which can match various architectural styles and enhance the overall aesthetics of the building.
Good energy saving: Some high-end aluminum exterior doors use broken bridge insulation technology, which can effectively prevent the transfer of heat, improve the thermal insulation performance of doors and windows, reduce energy consumption, and save energy costs for users.
