The dry-type submersible motor is a critical component in mining pump systems, and its performance depends heavily on the materials and design of key parts. One of the most important components is the mechanical seal, which prevents leakage between the rotating and stationary parts. There are two common structures for mechanical seals used in these motors.
The first type consists of a dynamic grinding block and a static grinding block. The static grinding block is usually fixed to the end cover, while the dynamic one is mounted on the shaft and limited by a bearing. It is driven via a pin key. Another structure, commonly found in models like YQSY200 and YQSY250, includes a moving block, a static grinding block, a push block, a drive pin, and a spring. The moving block is driven by the key and the drive sleeve, while the static block is secured with an anti-rotation brake. A spring provides the necessary thrust to maintain contact between the dynamic and static blocks, ensuring a tight seal. Both the dynamic and static sealing rings are typically made from tungsten carbide, which offers excellent wear resistance and durability.
In addition to the mechanical seal, the stator windings play a crucial role in the motor’s efficiency and reliability. These windings are generally made using QYS epoxy-modified polyamide imide and polyester composite oil-resistant enameled wire or QQ-type polyvinyl acetal enameled wire, both of which offer high resistance to oil and moisture. The slot insulation and insulation layers are constructed using 0.25–0.30mm thick polyester film and polyester fiber composite foils, such as DMD or DMDM. A thin layer of 0.05mm polyester film is also applied for additional protection.
To enhance insulation properties, oil-resistant 1033 epoxy paint or 1032 melamine paint is often used, and the entire assembly undergoes vacuum pressure impregnation to ensure complete coverage and long-term performance.
