Recently, the Key Laboratory of Laser Materials at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics has made significant progress in developing high-quality Ce:YAG scintillation crystals for high-resolution X-ray imaging systems. They have successfully fabricated scintillation crystal components with a diameter of 30mm and a thickness ranging from 30 to 45 micrometers. In collaboration with the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, they developed an advanced X-ray detector based on ultra-thin Ce:YAG scintillation crystals, enabling high-resolution imaging under X-ray exposure. As shown in the results, under identical experimental conditions, the image quality achieved by the Ce:YAG scintillation crystal developed by the Shanghai Opto-mechanical Company outperforms similar products from Crytur, a globally recognized company in scintillation crystal growth. The images produced exhibit superior edge sharpness, excellent contrast, and higher resolution, making for a significantly improved overall image quality.
