The China Feed Industry Information Network focuses on feed-related information and supports the development of animal husbandry.
Many feed mills face challenges when feeding piglets, especially during the early stages. Some pigs refuse to eat, while others suffer from diarrhea. This issue is not only related to the formulation of the feed but also often stems from poor quality control of raw materials.
Suckling pig feed typically contains a large amount of soybean meal and corn, which are key ingredients. However, these materials can cause digestive issues due to their complex nature and the underdeveloped digestive system of young pigs.
Soybean meal, for example, contains heat-sensitive antigens that can irritate the gastrointestinal tract of suckling pigs, leading to digestion problems and even diarrhea. To address this, anaerobic fermentation is used to break down the antigens and improve digestibility.
During anaerobic fermentation, soybean meal is partially broken down into smaller proteins and peptides, making it easier for pigs to absorb. Lactic acid is also produced, which helps acidify the gut environment and promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria like lactic acid bacteria.
However, many manufacturers dry the fermented soybean meal after fermentation, which kills live bacteria and reduces its effectiveness. This is where our active fermented soybean meal comes in.
Active Fermented Soybean Meal EFS48: This product uses anaerobic fermentation without steam drying, preserving high levels of live bacteria, lactic acid, and active enzymes. It's ideal for use in piglet diets, improving digestion and overall health.
Active Fermentation of Corn: Corn is another major ingredient in piglet feed, but it often causes issues like mold contamination, poor starch digestion, and low palatability.
Traditional methods like puffing or grinding may help, but they can lead to other problems such as hardening after pelleting and moisture absorption. Anaerobic fermentation offers a better alternative by reducing mold risk and improving starch digestion.
Fully Fermented Active Corn EFC12: This product is made through a one-step fermentation process, enhancing digestibility, promoting gut health, and supporting the growth of beneficial microorganisms.
Fermented corn produces a large amount of lactic acid, which helps maintain a healthy gut environment by inhibiting harmful bacteria. It also increases the number of beneficial microbes like Bacillus, lactic acid bacteria, and yeast, which are essential for maintaining gut balance.
Combined Use Plan for Active Fermented Corn and Soybean Meal:
Active Fermented Soybean Meal EFS48: It can be used to replace 5–10% of soybean meal in piglet concentrates or sow feeds. This improves digestion and supports better growth performance.
Fully Fermented Active Corn EFC12: This can replace 10–20% of corn in piglet diets, offering improved digestibility and gut health benefits. It’s especially effective when used in combination with other feed components.
By using these two products together, farmers can significantly improve the performance of their piglets, reduce health issues, and enhance overall productivity. These solutions are designed to meet the specific needs of young pigs, ensuring better growth and long-term profitability.
