Domestic potash fertilizer market is stable

The domestic potash fertilizer market remains steady, with a combination of strong demand and supportive international conditions contributing to price stability. In Latin America, particularly in Brazil, demand for potassium has remained robust. Suppliers are currently offering granular potash at CFR 350 USD per ton, with some deals expected to settle around CFR 360 USD per ton for April shipments. This reflects strong buyer interest and limited availability in the region. In the U.S., the potash market continues to show strength, with barge-source transactions reaching as high as FOB 330 USD per short ton—up by 10 USD from the previous week. This increase highlights the ongoing tightness in supply and strong buyer demand in North America. Meanwhile, in India, a new round of contract negotiations is expected to take place at the end of this month. Industry insiders remain optimistic that the transaction price for these contracts will fall within the range of CFR 325–330 USD per ton. This outlook suggests continued confidence in the Indian market despite global fluctuations. Beyond demand, several factors are influencing the international potash market. The impact of cold weather on transportation, along with supply disruptions caused by events in Israel, has created uncertainty in the global supply chain. These challenges are contributing to upward pressure on international prices, which in turn supports the cost of imported potash fertilizers in China.
