Your next table might be able to wirelessly charge your phone, even if there is a book or pile of clothes between them. According to reports, the Wireless Charging Alliance (A4WP) has released a wireless charging specification called Rezence that allows hardware manufacturers to create wireless chargers that can penetrate clothing and other materials.
It is reported that the full name of this standard is RezenceBaselineSystemSpecification (BSS), which contains guidelines that allow hardware manufacturers to create wireless charger devices compatible with the platform, including which power transceivers to use, or how to achieve bidirectional coupling. And inductance and so on. The choice of the remaining components, such as power amplifiers, DC-DC converters, rectifiers and microprocessors, is at the discretion of the manufacturer.
Rezence differs from existing wireless charging standards in that it relies on magnetic resonance technology, which results in a larger charging range and can penetrate surfaces such as desktops and clothing without interference. Users can also charge multiple devices at the same time.
At the MWC earlier this year, A4WP demonstrated its solution, and we also saw related products made by Qualcomm, Samsung and GillElectronics. It is reported that products meeting this new standard will enter the market before the end of this year.
