Technical route for the development of aluminum alloy body in China

1. Focus on the integration of aluminum alloy body design and manufacturing technology

The lightweight body of the car is a systematic project. There are two ways to reduce the weight of the car body: one is material weight reduction, and the other is structural weight reduction. The combination of material replacement and structural improvement must be adopted to minimize the overall quality of the vehicle under the premise of ensuring the strength, stiffness, modality, fatigue, collision safety, and anti-vibration and impact resistance of the vehicle to meet the design and application requirements. .

The basic form of the aluminum body is composed of a variety of complex sections of aluminum alloy extruded profiles to form a space frame, die-cast aluminum parts as a joint of the space frame joints, the body cover parts are stamped and processed by aluminum alloy plates, and the reinforcing plates of some load-bearing cover parts are also squeezed. The aluminum profile is pressed, and the connection between the cover and the frame is completed by riveting with a punching rivet to form a structurally strong whole.

The all-aluminum body frame structure (ASF) is a core technology of Audi (see Figure 3), where they have been researched and developed for 20 years. The body frame is made of cast and hydroformed aluminum, including 22% extruded aluminum alloy parts, 35% aluminum alloy castings, and 35% aluminum alloy sheets. The links of the body frame are mostly aluminum. Alloy castings. The integration of structural design and manufacturing technology is realized. However, due to the division of the department in charge of technological innovation, it is impossible to support hardware and software innovation at the same time. At present, the lack of design and manufacturing integration projects for the research and development of aluminum alloy body in China is bound to cause potential safety hazards.

2. Research and development of the "four major processes" of aluminum alloy body

If we have made great progress in the "four major processes" of steel material car body, especially if the stamping and painting production line occupies more than half of the country, then the "four major processes" of the aluminum alloy body is still blank.

1) Research and development of aluminum alloy body flexible multi-function (including cold, warm stamping, high-speed liquid-filled stretching, profile extrusion-bending) forming unit and automatic production line.

2) Research and development of aluminum alloy body flexible multi-functional intelligent welding, connecting equipment and automatic production line.

3) Research and development of aluminum alloy body flexible coating automatic production line.

HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) are the third generation of fluorine-based gases.   

These products are categorised as having zero ODP (Ozone Depleting Potential) and medium to high GWP (Global Warming Potential) and so offer a more environmentally friendly alternative to CFCs and HCFCs. HFCs are used in a wide range of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment specifically designed for them, and as "drop in" retrofit gases for older CFC or HCFC equipment. HFCs are also used in selective propellant and foam blowing applications.   

A growing focus on the environmental impact of refrigerants is fuelling demand for refrigeration solutions that can provide satisfactory cooling performance with a lower impact on global warming. This is propelling environmentally friendly refrigeration solutions to the top of the corporate sustainability agenda. In addition, local legislation is increasingly targeting refrigerant gases with high GWP.
