With the advancement of new rural construction, since 2005, the district has gradually solved the “four high” issues of high fluoride, high ammonia nitrogen, high salt, and high arsenic in 25 villages, updated 62 drinking water wells and 215 sets of water pump equipment. Built 267 high-standard wells, renovated more than 5,380 kilometers of rural water supply network, and built a new centralized water supply network of 92.5 kilometers. In the process of renovating rural drinking water facilities, they reserved interfaces for the villages to connect with the centralized water supply network, 9 centralized water supply plants, and 57 villages in 9 towns including Beifang, Beishicao and Niulanshan. There are several water supply conditions, of which 41 villages have canceled their own wells and realized centralized municipal water supply.

Li Shouyi, director of the Water Affairs Bureau of Shunyi District, said that at present, they are stepping up efforts to formulate a unified water supply system for urban and rural areas. From this year onwards, 50 to 60 villages will have their own self-provided wells and build centralized water plants such as Liqiao, Dasunzhuang and Longwantun.
