Protective footwear market in Western Europe requires a diversified inspection strategy

On May 29th, Frost & Sullivan's latest analysis of the protective footwear market in Western Europe showed that the overall market revenue in 2013 was US$1.1 billion and is expected to reach US$1.15 billion in 2017. The research covers end users such as manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, mining and service industries.

Increased awareness of the use of protective footwear in all walks of life is necessary to drive procurement. The government and regulatory bodies have begun to make concerted efforts to safeguard and promote a healthy and safe working environment. Various policies plus subsidies allow companies to provide employees with adequate protective equipment.

“The cost-effectiveness of training end-users on the purchase of higher-value, longer-lived products benefits the company’s long-term success.” said Dr. Michael Mbogoro, Sullivan’s analyst for chemicals, raw materials and foods, “Services Infiltration is not enough and needs to be the focus of all parties' efforts."

According to the analysis, most of the market share is occupied by large-scale distribution groups. The products and prices offered by these distribution groups are more diversified than European footwear manufacturers. These purchasing groups import cheap alternatives from overseas low-cost manufacturing countries and sell them directly to end users. Therefore, they have a strong influence on manufacturers in terms of costs, which further exacerbates the competition in mature markets.

To remain competitive, manufacturers must expand their product and service portfolio, including adding customized solutions and higher-value services. For the protective footwear manufacturer, more diversified talents are needed to deal with the status quo that is gradually being abandoned in the “one-for-one” product model.

“The unique combination of innovation in design is the key to product differentiation, and at the same time it can guarantee the high value of protective footwear products for manufacturers in EU countries.” Dr. Mbogoro reminded, “When style and fashion are sought When it comes to people, people are even more looking forward to products with ergonomic designs that promote health."

There are two main  Bonded NdFeB Magnet manufacturing methods:

ï‚·Bonded Injection Plastic Moulding NdFeB
ï‚·Bonded Compression Moulding Ndfeb

Bonded Compression Moulding NeFeB Magnets ( called Compression Bonded Magnets) are made by using many isotropic Neodymium, Iron, Boron materials, as well as crushed and powdered Samarium and Cobalt ingredients.Combinations of different elemetal grades are used to creat specific magnetic properties. Compression Bonded Magnets offer higher magnetic strength than Injection Plastic moulded magnets. Although Compression Bonded Magnets have higher magnetic particle density, ther are limeted to simple geometric shapes due to the compaction process. The epoxy is used to protect the magnet surface from industrial solvent and automotive fluids. The normal applications of the magnets range from -40℃ to 150℃.

The advantages of Compression Bonded Magnets:
1. High quantity and even volume manufaturing, with up to millions of pieces per year
2. Single-time moulding and multi-poles orientation.
3. Effective surface treatment to prevent corrosion. The product is coated with epoxy resin to be protect the surface smoothing.
4. Excellent magnetic properties. The energy of Compression Bonded Magnets is 3 times as high as anisotropic ferrite magnets.

Application of  Compression Bonded magnets:
•Mini motors
•Automatic contolling devices
•Sensors
•Drivers
•Telecom
