Dow Chemical recently developed ENLIGHT polyolefin encapsulation films for solar panels. Compared with similar products in the existing market, this product has better electrical insulation properties and waterproof performance, which can effectively extend the service life of the components. Tests show that the solar panels of ENLIGHT materials can withstand hot and humid environments for more than 10,000 hours, which is much higher than the competitive products (2000 hours). This product will enable solar panel manufacturers to reduce the plastic sealing time by more than 30% and greatly increase production capacity. And because this film does not produce corrosive acetic acid, equipment losses during production can be effectively reduced.
In order to better meet the demand of Asia Pacific customers for ENLIGHT polyolefin encapsulation film, Dow established a photovoltaic application laboratory in Shanghai, and recently transformed its production base in Thailand to quadruple its global production capacity.
