The recoverable elements in the Suyekebei nickel polymetallic ore in Xinjiang's Toli County are mainly nickel and cobalt. The ore contains 0.19% nickel and 0.011% cobalt. The nickel minerals are mainly in the form of sulfides, with an occupation rate of 60%-65%. . The overall size of nickel minerals is fine, 77.87% is distributed in the order of 0.01 mm or less, and the ore is difficult to sort. Serpentine and talc are the major gangue minerals in this ore and are highly metamorphic minerals. Its mineral characteristics are poor crystallization, low hardness, easy to mud, and seriously affect the selection index during the flotation process.

Observation of the flotation tailings by microscopy revealed that in addition to nickel silicate, nickel lost in tailings, some fine-grained nickel sulfide minerals were encased in gangue minerals or linked to gangue minerals. Nickel mineral inlays are fine-grained and difficult to dissociate, which is the root cause of the difficulty in increasing nickel recovery.
The research results of this project can be used as a technical basis for evaluating the selectivity of the ore, and it is applicable to technical transformation of the same type of mine or construction of new mines.
