Capture electrical energy from blue algae photosynthesis and respiration

According to a recent issue of Technology magazine, Canadian researchers have discovered and designed a micro-photosynthetic battery technology that can capture electrical energy from blue algae photosynthesis and respiration. This novel and scalable technology enables humans to use more economical ways to produce clean energy, which in turn makes it possible to eventually acquire carbon-free energy.

As a potential solution to mitigate and eventually eliminate the impact of global climate change, clean energy has attracted attention and a wave of clean and green carbon-free energy sources has set off on a global scale. The main source of clean energy is the sun, which emits more energy per hour than the Earth humans consume each year. Therefore, capturing energy from the sun becomes an important tool for turning energy into an eco-friendly type.

Any photosynthesis or respiration that occurs in plant cells involves the electron transport chain. Its main concept is to capture the electrons released by the blue-green algae. The electron transport chain of photosynthesis and respiration can actively capture electrical energy.

The microphotocell designed by Dr. Musu Kumeren Parkley Sami, director of the photobiological microsystems experiment at Concordia University of Canada, includes cathode, anode, and proton exchange membranes. The anode compartment of the battery contains cyanobacteria that can release electrons to the surface of the redox reagent electrode located at the cathode. An external load is used to extract electrons. The battery produces an open circuit voltage of 993 millivolts with a power density of 36.23 watts/cm2. Battery performance can be enhanced by shortening the distance between the two electrodes of the proton exchange membrane and a more efficient design.

The researchers said that the micro-photosynergic battery has obvious military and wireless application value, and can also be used as a source of power for bioMEMS (micro-electromechanical system) devices. (Reporter Feng Weidong)

Both in the initial design of stone or sand production line production line, the actual production, when dealing with high hardness material, we preferred as the cone crusher crushing equipment. Compared to other production equipment such as finely divided crusher, fine jaw crusher, the cone crusher although higher price, but because of its crushing ratio, high capacity, reliable structure, easy to adjust the discharge opening product grain shape is good, the vulnerability of slow wear characteristics and are widely used.
