The reporter learned from the National Standards Committee in the morning that the new national standard GB/T18102-2007 "impregnated paper laminated wood flooring" for laminate flooring has been released recently and will be implemented on May 1. The product name of "impregnated paper laminated wood flooring" is familiar laminate flooring. The relevant indicators of the new national standard are closer to the needs of consumers.

Compared with the 2000 version, the new standard re-defines the surface abrasion resistance, static bending strength, and dimensional stability of laminate flooring, and increases the light fastness index. The most important thing is that the new national standard has for the first time clearly defined the "E0 standard" for laminate flooring. It is reported that the E0 standard is currently the highest standard for international health homes, and generally provides that the average formaldehyde emission is less than 0.5 mg/L.

In the past few years, there was a whirlwind of “E0 standards” within the laminate flooring industry in China. Some brands even used the slogan of “zero formaldehyde emission”.

The relevant experts of the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Wood-based Panels told reporters that consumers want to reduce the amount of formaldehyde released from the purchased products. The former had only E1 standards and no E0 standards, while Europe had relevant E0 standards. .

This time, the new national standard has increased the E0 level indicator of the formaldehyde emission in wooden flooring, and it is precisely to adapt to the industry's environmental protection development direction.

Experts told the reporter that the old standard detected the amount of formaldehyde extracted from laminate flooring materials of a certain quality. The new standard adopted the dryer method, which measures the amount of formaldehyde contained in each litre of air.
Experts told reporters that, in fact, consumers only need to purchase laminate flooring that meets the E1 standard and it is entirely possible to guarantee the safety of use.

In addition, experts warned that when consumers purchase laminate flooring, they must go to the formal building materials market and choose good products. Manufacturers of regular products, the packaging should include the company name, date of manufacture, implementation standards. At the same time, a test report should be requested from the seller.
