Export situation of China's hardware power tools is not optimistic

Affected by the international financial crisis, China's export of power tools was seriously hindered, and the number and amount of exports declined sharply. With the gradual recovery of foreign economies, exports gradually recovered, but the export situation is still not optimistic.

Taking Yongkang as an example, from January to June this year, a total of 5289 batches of electric tools were exported, with 8.654 million units, and the export amount reached US$162 million. The average unit price was US$18.71 per unit. Compared with the same period of last year, batches increased by 4.05%. However, the export volume, amount and average unit price decreased by 5%, 9.57% and 4.8%, respectively.

In terms of categories, the export of high-priced products has fallen significantly. The top five products with the largest drop in export value are electric drills, angle grinders, oblique saws (or miter saws, cutters), electric planers, and electric chain saws.

However, the distribution of trade markets shows that there is a slight increase in exports to emerging markets, of which Russia is growing faster. From January to June, exports to emerging markets totaled 3.31 million units, and the export amount was 57.528 million US dollars, an increase of 10.6% and 7.4% year-on-year respectively. Among them, 839,000 units were exported to Russia and the export amount was 20.33 million US dollars, an increase of 32.8% and 15.9% year-on-year respectively. %. While the amount of exports to the United States and the European Union fell by more than 10%.

In addition, from January to June, Yongkang's exports of power tool companies increased by 17 compared to the same period of last year, but the new export companies were generally smaller in scale, of which 14 newly added export companies had exports worth less than US$500,000 in the first half of this year. In the first half of the year, there were only 3 companies with exports exceeding 10 million U.S. dollars and 12 companies with exports between 5 million and 10 million U.S. dollars.
