Aluminum smelting and processing capacity of over 2 million tons in Dingxi City, Gansu Province

The city of Dingxi in Gansu Province will focus on improving the level of industrial development. The city relied on the basic advantages of traditional high-energy-carrying industrial bases to support Northwest Aluminum, Dongxing Aluminum, Linfen Aluminum and other enterprises to implement capacity enhancement and aluminum-electricity joint venture projects, and expand the production scale of traditional products such as petroleum machinery, lifting machinery and construction machinery. Develop wind power, thermoelectricity, solar energy, bioenergy and other renewable and new energy sources. At the same time, the city strives to speed up the construction of industrial parks, increase the level of park planning, expand the scale of the park, improve the function of accumulating residents, and constantly accelerate the pace of construction. In the past five years, a total of 696 industrial projects have been started, 471 completed and put into production, and investment of 21.79 billion yuan has been completed. Initially formed a local industrial system based on non-ferrous metallurgy, agricultural and livestock product processing, refined salt chemical industry, modern pharmaceuticals, hydropower minerals development, and equipment manufacturing. The city's aluminum smelting and processing capacity can reach more than 2 million tons, and Dingxi will become an important aluminum industry base in the northwest and even the whole country. In 2011, the city’s industrial added value was 1.624 billion yuan, an increase of 25.1%, and in the first half of this year, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size was 847 million yuan, an increase of 28%, ranking first in the province.
